Fail a job
HttpRequest request = HttpRequest.newBuilder() .uri(URI.create("http://localhost:8080/v2/jobs/2251799813685249/failure")) .header("Authorization", "Bearer <token>") .header("Content-Type", "application/json") .method("POST", HttpRequest.BodyPublishers.ofString("{ \"retries\": 2, \"errorMessage\": \"the payment service timed out\", \"retryBackOff\": 1000 }")) .build();HttpResponse<String> response = HttpClient.newHttpClient().send(request, HttpResponse.BodyHandlers.ofString());System.out.println(response.body());const url = 'http://localhost:8080/v2/jobs/2251799813685249/failure';const options = { method: 'POST', headers: {Authorization: 'Bearer <token>', 'Content-Type': 'application/json'}, body: '{"retries":2,"errorMessage":"the payment service timed out","retryBackOff":1000}'};
try { const response = await fetch(url, options); const data = await response.json(); console.log(data);} catch (error) { console.error(error);}curl --request POST \ --url http://localhost:8080/v2/jobs/2251799813685249/failure \ --header 'Authorization: Bearer <token>' \ --header 'Content-Type: application/json' \ --data '{ "retries": 2, "errorMessage": "the payment service timed out", "retryBackOff": 1000 }'Marks an activated job as failed. With retries above zero the job
is offered to workers again, after retryBackOff milliseconds when
that is set. With no retries left (the default) the job raises an
incident. variables are set in the job’s scope. The body may be
empty or absent.
Authorizations
Section titled “Authorizations”Parameters
Section titled “ Parameters ”Path Parameters
Section titled “Path Parameters”Positive signed 64-bit entity key, written as a decimal string.
Header Parameters
Section titled “Header Parameters”Tenant selection. A principal bound to one tenant may omit it; if
sent, it must equal that tenant (403 otherwise). A principal that
may act in several tenants must send it on every request:
without it the request is refused with 400, and a tenant it may
not act in is refused with 403.
Makes a retried command safe. A repeat with the same key and the same
body replays the first answer. A repeat with the same key and a
different body is refused with 409.
Request Body
Section titled “Request Body”object
Retries the job has left. 0 raises an incident.
Why the job failed; the incident carries it. Empty when absent.
Milliseconds before the job is offered again. 0 offers it at once.
Variables to set in the job’s scope.
Deferred: any value is rejected with 400.
Example
{ "retries": 2, "errorMessage": "the payment service timed out", "retryBackOff": 1000}Responses
Section titled “ Responses ”The job was failed.
